In 2000, John Epstein discovered his passion for communication training while working as an assistant in a class. A senior facilitator suggested that he become a trainer, and this started the certification process.
Over the following years, John led six 12-week courses, consistently exceeding global benchmarks. His enthusiasm and expertise led to his appointment as a coach and mentor for junior instructors.
John’s experience in business-to-business sales and his trainer certification helped him join Nielsen in 2006. As Director of Internal Learning & Development, he worked closely with client-facing associates in Nielsen’s US Media business. He conducted classes on sales, negotiation, and presentation skills, spoke at sales conferences, and performed needs analyses, among other responsibilities.
Epstein’s work impacted colleagues and stakeholders globally across Nielsen’s portfolio. He conducted a train-the-trainer program on four continents, certifying senior leaders from over 20 countries. This network of trainers has since influenced over 1,000 client-facing associates.
In 2015, John established Actionable Learning Corp., providing contract facilitation services in consultative sales, negotiation, and presentation skills. He is a member of ATD and Toastmasters International.
By understanding a variety of perspectives, John has been able to effectively mentor, coach and teach people around the world.
John loves to spend time with family and friends and is an avid reader and golfer.
